Nurse dies after pregnant woman lures her home for husband to rape

A 17-year-old intern nurse who helped a pregnant woman home was killed by the woman and her husband when she tried to fight off the man, who tried to rape her, according to police in Jiamusi city in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province.
The pregnant woman said she had pains in her abdomen as she stood beside a road as Hu Yixuan, an intern nurse in Jiamusi, passed by last Wednesday afternoon, police said.
At the woman’s request, Hu accompanied her to her home. The woman’s husband, however, was waiting in a bedroom and attempted to rape her, the Heilongjiang Morning Post reported.
Hu fought back but the couple suffocated her by covering her head with a quilt, police said. Her body was stuffed into a suitcase and buried in a rural area.
Hu’s parents couldn’t find her that night and called police the next day. Police caught the suspects on Sunday and found Hu’s body on Monday, Hu’s uncle said.
The wife is expected to go into labor soon and is in hospital under a police guard. Police didn’t disclose any other details, the paper reported.
