Offices stormed after man 'accidentally shot'

RELATIVES of a suspected robber stormed government buildings in the northwestern Gansu Province after police claimed he died when an officer's gun accidentally went off during a struggle.
The man died on Monday morning during a fight with police after he and two accomplices allegedly stole tents from an airport in Xiahe County and escaped to a nearby village in Amuquhu Town.
When police caught up with them they began fighting, injuring one officer, Xinhua news agency reported yesterday.
In the altercation, a police gun accidentally fired, killing one man, say the authorities.
Family members attacked Amuquhu Town's public security bureau buildings hours later, claiming the suspect had been deliberately killed.
The violence subsided when legal authorities began investigating, the report said.
