S. Korean actress stars in Zhang Ziyi's new movie

SOUTH Korean actress Jeon Ji Hyun will star with Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi in "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan," Zhang's second film production, Sohu.com reported today, citing South Korean media.

One unspecified member of Taiwan's four-member group F4 will play the leading hero, the report said.

The movie will start shooting in the middle of this month in Shanghai.

Zhang, 30, will co-produce the English-language movie about women's friendships with two girlfriends, Wendi Deng, wife of News Corp Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, and Florence Sloan, wife of MGM Chairman Harry Sloan.

The film is based on a novel by Lisa See about a lifelong friendship between two women in remote China in the 19th century.

Zhang's debut as a producer, "Sophie's Revenge," proved a blockbuster this summer, pulling more than 90 million yuan (US$13.18 million) in box-office sales.
