Serial killer shot dead this morning in Chongqing
THE alleged serial killer Zhou Kehua who killed nine people and injured five others in the past eight years was shot dead by police this morning in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, China Central Television reported.
The 42-year-old Zhou was shot dead around 6:40am in Tongjiaqiao area in Chongqing.
The "Class-A" wanted suspect by China's Ministry of Public Security shot nine people dead and injured five others over the past eight years in Chongqing and Jiangsu and Hunan provinces. The latest victim was a Chongqing police officer who was trying to stop and question Zhou before he was killed last Friday.
Earlier police in Chongqing and the neighboring provinces of Sichuan and Guizhou have been ordered to suspend their vacations and remain on high alert for Zhou.
In the latest search attempt, local police over the weekend combed a mountain and a cave which were said to be Zhou's hideout.
