Taiwan has 2 cases
TAIWAN had two confirmed cases of A-H1N1 influenza, the island's institution for disease control and prevention said early this morning.
The two cases are a 39-year-old mother and her 21-month-old baby girl. They returned to Taiwan from the United States on May 5 and felt unwell the next day.
Their family drove them to the department of gynecology of the Taiwan University Hospital and department of pediatrics of the Renai Hospital three times by Saturday.
The two are in quarantine in the Taipei Heping Hospital. Another nine people are under medical observation.
The two patients were still in a 48-hour golden treatment period after the development of the disease, said Yeh Ching-chuan, chief of Taiwan's health department.
