World's longest high-speed rail connects Beijing and Guangzhou
The Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway will launch full operation on December 26, marking the opening of the longest express rail link in the world, China Central Television reported.
The quickest of the train trips on the full route will take 7 hours and 59 minutes.
It's scheduled that the section between Beijing and Zhengzhou, capital of middle China's Henan Province, will open for a trial operation on December 20 to prepare for its official opening on December 26.
The stretch between Zhengzhou and Guangzhou is already in service. And the full-range operation later this month would mean the Beijing-Guangzhou link would turn the world's longest high-speed railway in operation.
