Top lawmaker kicked out in Guangxi
Zhang Xiulong, former vice chairman of the standing committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional People’s Congress, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China over serious violations of Party discipline and laws.
The decision was made following an investigation by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, upon the approval of the CPC Central Committee, according to a statement released by China’s top anti-graft agency yesterday.
The investigation found that Zhang had lost his ideals and conviction. He allegedly favored his relatives and friends and abused his power for personal gains while implementing the CPC central authorities’ decisions.
The statement said Zhang had been uncooperative in the investigation of his case.
