Henan police mistake boys dressed as Grim Reapers for terrorists
Police fired a warning shot at two middle school students dressed as Grim Reapers in Henan Province as they thought the boys were terrorists, Dahe Daily reported today.
The boys wore black masks, robes and hoods and appeared near a park in Mengjin County on August 2. Both of them carried a scythe and scared passersby, drawing the attention of the police.
Facing the police, they surrendered but forgot to drop the scythes. Police thought they were trying to resist and fired a warning shot in the sky, the report said.
Police soon learned the “terrorists” were middle school students who enjoy cosplay. The boys bought the costumes and toy scythes online.
Police warned the boys not to pull such stunts anymore and sent them home, according to the report.
