Tobacco more deadly than Toyotas; recall cigarettes

DEAR editor,

American politicians get their political kicks out of questioning Akio Toyoda, the Japanese CEO of Toyota Motor Corp (about quality problems of some Toyota cars).

When will these self-righteous US health and safety lawmakers bring back the "lying and denying" tobacco CEOs and seek a recall of and reparations for their deadly products?

The defective Toyota cars may bring death suddenly.

However, the death by American-made tobacco is much slower and painful. Tobacco-related US deaths are 450,000 per year. How many die from defective Toyotas?

Should "acceleration" of death make a difference in Washington?
