Officials must heed public voices
IN the last 30 years, China has witnessed quite a few cases in which wrong policies wrought a heavy loss, although there was no shortage of sound policies.
The government must seek and respect expert opinions before it makes any major policy. Public voices must also be heeded before a major policy affecting public interest comes out. An official cannot just snap his finger and make policy.
