300 weightlifters test their stamina at Jing’an challenge

THE 2017 Venus Cup Weightlifting Stamina Challenge was held at Jing’an Gymnasium today.

Organized by Venus Weightlifting Club under the support of China Weightlifting Association, the event gathered near 300 participants from ten countries and regions.

Different from the Olympic events of clean and jerk, and snatch, the competitions were held in a more vivid format. The organizers used equipments including sand bags and sand-filled rubber balls to combine competition with games, testing competitors’ stamina apart from explosive strength.

The event is also part of the inaugural Jing’an District Sports Meet.
