PELE has been named as the honorary ambassador for the 2014 World Cup to be held in Brazil. The football great accepted the invitation from Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff. Pele's role will be rallying Brazilians around delayed efforts at getting ready for the tournament. He will also be promoting Brazil's preparations abroad at football events. Pele says he knows that many Brazilians are dismayed by the slow pace of preparations for the event.
