Anelka signs for Juventus
FORMER Arsenal, Real Madrid and Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has joined Juventus on a five-month deal from China's Shanghai Shenhua, the Italian club said on Saturday.
Juventus General Manager Beppe Marotta told Sky Sport Italia that the 33-year-old ex-France international would help solve an "emergency" situation in attack. Anelka joined Shanghai a year ago and was later joined by his former Chelsea teammate Didier Drogba. The deal is reported to be worth 600,000 euros (US$800,000) to Anelka, plus performance-related bonuses. Juventus agreed last week to sign Athletic Bilbao's Spain forward Fernando Llorente on a four-year deal, starting next season.
