Anelka wants to stay in Shenhua despite new coach

French player-coach Nicolas Anelka says he wants to stay with Shanghai Shenhua even though the club may replace him with a new coach.
He says the club has never informed him about the new coach, Sergio Batista, who is expected to arrive in Shanghai on Friday.
"I don't know him. Everything comes from the press and I haven't got any notice from the club. If this really happens, it is probably because there's a problem in the communication between me and the club," 33-year-old Anelka said in a press conference this morning.
"Everyone knows I'm player-coach, but my main job is player. If this happens, I will stay in the club but I will be disappointed."
Anelka stressed that there is a communication barrier between him and the club and he wants to fix the problem in a positive way.
The most eminent player in the Chinese Super League told a local newspaper earlier that he would retire if a new coach came to replace him, but he did not mention this today.
