Armstrong told to return medal

The International Olympic Committee wants Lance Armstrong to hand back his Olympic medal.

IOC Vice President Thomas Bach says Armstrong and the United States Olympic Committee had been asked to return the bronze medal that he won at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned for life for doping. The IOC also stripped him of his bronze medal. Bach says there was no legal dispute involved. He said: “What we are lacking — sadly but I hope we can still come to the result — is just getting back the medal. But legally the case for the IOC is closed.”
