Australia-China sign hoops deal
AUSTRALIA'S men's and women's basketball teams will play China in 24 games over the next four years under a new deal.
The agreement between Basketball Australia and the Chinese Basketball Association announced yesterday will begin with a four-match Sino-Australia Challenge series between the men's teams starting from June this year in preparation for the 2014 World Cup in Spain. The agreement will also see games involving the countries' youth teams, split between venues in China and Perth in Western Australia State. The first game of the Sino-Australia Challenge will be played on June 7 in Perth, marking the debut of new Australia coach Andrej Lemanis.
