Berg gets the boot

BLACKBURN Rovers has sacked coach Henning Berg after less than two months in the job following a poor run of form for the second-tier club. Blackburn announced "the departure of manager Henning Berg, assistant manager Eric Black, first-team coach Iain Brunskill and goalkeeping coach Bobby Mimms with immediate effect" yesterday, citing "a very disappointing sequence of results." The 43-year-old Norwegian was in charge for 10 league games, winning just once.
