Biron retires
Martin Biron has decided to retire less than a week after being demoted by the New York Rangers to the American Hockey League, the National Hockey League club announced.
New York placed Canadian Biron on waivers before he was assigned to their Hartford farm team. Biron appeared in two games during the Rangers’ 1-4-0 start this season and had a record of 0-1-0. A former first-round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 1995, Biron made his NHL debut later that year. In 508 career regular-season games, Biron posted a 230-191-52 record.
