TOM Boonen's bid to defend his Tour of Flanders title came to a premature end when the Belgian star crashed out after just 19 kilometers into the 256km one day classic in Bruges, Belgium, yesterday. The Omega Pharma rider, who has a record-equalling three Flanders titles to his name, reportedly injured his shoulder and thigh and was taken to hospital.
