Bowe鈥檚 record

American Brittany Bowe clocked a world record of 1 minute, 12.58 seconds to win the women’s 1,000 meters on Sunday on the final day of the ISU Speed Skating World Cup stop at Salt Lake City, Utah. Bowe lowered the previous record of 1:12.68 set by Canadian Christine Nesbitt in Calgary, Canada, on January 28, 2012. American Heather Richardson’s second-place time of 1:12.61 was also inside the previous mark. Irene Wust of the Netherlands finished third in 1:13.33.
