Brazil-Russia final
TOP-RANKED Brazil rallied from two sets down to defeat host Japan yesterday and advance to the final of the women's world volleyball championship in Tokyo. Olympic champion Brazil recovered from a slow start to triumph 22-25, 33-35, 25-22, 25-22, 15-11 and will meet defending champion Russia in today's final. Sheila Castro and Natalia Pereira powered the Brazilian attack with 25 and 23 points, respectively. Yukiko Ebata led Japan with 29 points. Japan was making its first semifinal appearance in 28 years. Russia defeated the United States 25-16, 13-25, 25-19, 25-21.
