Camper shines

NEW Zealand yacht Camper won the in-port race during the Auckland stopover for the Volvo Ocean Race yesterday, beating Puma by 54 seconds. Camper, skippered by Chris Nicholson, got off to a strong start and led throughout the race in Auckland's Waitemata Harbor. The win was its first in five in-port races. The yacht finished a disappointing fourth in the 5,220-nautical mile (9,670-kilometer) fourth leg of the global race from Sanya, China to Auckland last weekend. Overall race leader Telefonica of Spain finished last yesterday.
