Chawalit sizzles
THAILAND'S Chawalit Plaphol birdied the final two holes to overhaul Sri Lankan Mithun Perera and win the Asian Tour's season-opening Myanmar Open in Yangon yesterday. The 38-year-old rolled in a three-foot putt on the par-5 last to finish with a 3-under 69 and 18-under 271 total to seal a one-shot win and claim his fourth Asian Tour title. Perera, the first Sri Lankan to hold an Asian Tour card, carded a blemish-free 65 for a 17 under total.
