China eases past Greece at worlds
DEFENDING world champion China began its campaign for an 18th world table tennis title in Dortmund with a 3-0 victory over Greece on Sunday, while host Germany also won its match.
Defending men's world champion Zhang Jike opened the tournament for the Chinese with a 3-0 win over Konstantinos Papageorgiou in 11-4, 11-4, 11-7 in Group A. China's Wang Hao also won 3-0 against Kalinikos Kreanga 11-4, 11-9, 11-6 and world No. 1 Ma Long completed the hat-trick with a 3-0 victory over Panagiotis Gionis in 11-5, 11-4, 11- 5.
