China race dropped
THE International Cycling Union says the Tour of Hangzhou is being dropped from the World Tour program for the second straight year.
The Chinese race has never taken place despite the UCI-promoted event getting a four-year license last year as the governing body aims to globalize the sport. The UCI says the project is "frozen" because "the basic conditions for organizing a race at UCI World Tour level would not be met."
