China to host 7th Royal Trophy
CHINA will host the seventh edition of the Royal Trophy when holder Asia takes on Europe in the annual team golf contest in December, organizers said yesterday.
The continental fight will be held on December 20-22 at the Dragon Lake Golf Club in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province. Asia bagged its second title in a sudden-death playoff when the sixth edition of the annual contest, loosely based on the Ryder Cup model, was held in Brunei last year. This year, China's golf events include the lucrative BMW Masters and WGC-HSBC Champions, both in Shanghai, plus the European-sanctioned Volvo China Open and a new LPGA women's event to be held in Beijing.
