CHINESE cueists took both the men’s and women’s titles at the 2016 World 9-Ball China Open in Shanghai. China’s national billiards player Wu Jiaqing defeated Chinese Taipei’s Zheng Yu-Xuan 11-4 to become the first mainland player to win the men’s title. The women’s final was more tightly contested between China’s Han Yu and Liu Shasha. Han rallied to edge out Liu 9-8 for her second title. The event was held at the newly built Tangzhen Culture and Sports Center in Pudong.
