Distracted Chinese misfire at worlds
CHINA'S shooting team blamed personal distractions for a disappointing performance at the recent world championships.
China won five titles at the Beijing Olympics but managed just one title in the 15 Olympic events at the July 29-August 10 world shooting championship in Munich. China's coach Wang Yifu said private issues had affected several team members. "Some shooters are in the key period of their lives, for example Pang Wei just became a father and Guo Wenjun was preparing for her wedding. At this moment they must be full of thoughts, or mental disturbances, which is understandable," Wang told China Sports Daily.
