Eriksson tipped for Guangzhou R&F job
FORMER England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has stepped down as technical director of United Arab Emirates club Al Nasr to take up a job in China.
Al Nasr only said yesterday that Eriksson was joining a Chinese club without specifying, but Guangzhou R&F has previously said he was a candidate for its coaching job. The Beijing Times said the Chinese Super League side will announce the appointment of a new coach to the media tomorrow. The Swede will reportedly earn an annual income of US$3 million. R&F, which finished 7th last year, sacked its Brazilian coach Sergio Farias last month. Eriksson has also managed Fiorentina, Roma, Lazio, Benfica, Manchester City, Mexico and Ivory Coast.
