BIG-SPENDING Guangzhou Evergrande has denied Marcello Lippi has signed a multi-billion-dollar contract to manage the Chinese Super League club. Numerous Chinese media outlets, quoting Italian reports, have said Lippi was poised to take the helm. "The reports are sheer rumor," Evergrande's owner Xu Jiayin insisted.
