BRAZIL police said Botafogo midfielder Somalia, who claimed he was briefly abducted on his way to training, made up the story because he was running late. Police chief Juliana Domingues said footage from the player's building showed him entering around 4am and leaving at around 9am on Wednesday. Somalia had alleged he'd been the victim of a kidnapping at 7:15am that lasted about two hours. Investigators became suspicious when Somalia contradicted himself.
