Federer pulls out of Shanghai Masters

WORLD No. 1 tennis player Roger Federer announced his withdrawal from Shanghai ATP World Tour Masters 1000 today.

He pulled out so "I can give my body a chance to rest, rehabilitate and fully recover from a physically challenging year," Federer wrote in his blog. He was scheduled to attend the tournament in Shanghai from October 10 to 18.

Federer will also withdraw from the Tokyo Open.
