Final stop of DTM car racing in city

THE final stop of the German-based DTM car racing 2010 will be held in Shanghai at the end of this month, the local organizer said yesterday.

As a street-race event, the circuit of the China Street Race 2010 DTM Shanghai will be made up of the streets around Century Park in Pudong New Area, which will combine car racing with urban cityscape, providing the audience a different vision of car racing and the city, according to the Shanghai Sports Bureau. Apart from the main race, the November 26-28 gala will boast a charity race, featuring celebrities, along with a rock music festival, circuit experience race for fans, a fireworks show and youth kart racing. The 2.4-kilometer circuit starts from Dingxiang Road, passing landmark buildings such as the Science and Technology Museum, the Oriental Art Center and the Pudong Expo, with audience stands, accommodating 20,000, set up on the outer side. Ticket prices for the race will range from 280 yuan (US$42) to 1,880 yuan.
