Formula One will return to Austria
RED Bull said Formula One racing will return to Austria in 2014 after an 11-year break.
It said the Grand Prix of Austria has been provisionally scheduled for July 6 in Spielberg, which also hosted the race from 1997-2003. The track has been slightly modified since to improve safety. Red Bull said its owner "Dietrich Mateschitz and (F1 boss) Bernie Ecclestone have reached an agreement to bring back Formula One racing to (the province of) Styria." Austria has hosted 26 grand prix races since 1964.
