World champions France shot to the top of the FIFA rankings while previous leaders Germany slumped to 15th. Belgium is second, Brazil dropped one place to third, while surprise World Cup finalists Croatia leapt from 20th to fourth. Uruguay climbed nine places to fifth while England jump six places to six. Argentina dropped to 11th while World Cup hosts Russia, who began the tournament in 71st place, leapt 21 spots.
