Galatasaray closes is on striker Drogba

ISTANBUL club Galatasaray has started negotiations with Shanghai Shenhua to buy striker Didier Drogba, the club said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange yesterday.
Hurriyet newspaper said Galatasaray officials met with Ivory Coast captain and former Chelsea player during the Africa Cup of Nations and agreed an 18-month deal that would earn him 7 million euros (US$9.43 million), plus an extra 30,000 euros per match. The 34-year-old moved to China after helping Chelsea win the Champions League last May. The move comes less than a week after Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder joined Galatasaray from Inter Milan.
