Grand Slam Final

THE 2016 WDSF Grand Slam Final (Standard & Latin) concluded at Shanghai’s Luwan Stadium at the weekend.

Being the last stop of the six-leg Grand Slam series, the event gathered the world’s top-ranked 24 pairs of Standard and Latin dancers. Moldova pair Gabriele Goffredo and Anna Matus led all the way in Saturday’s Latin final before scoring a total of 195.46 points to take the crown. They were followed by Germany’s Timur Imametdinov/Nina Bezzubova, and Armen Tsaturyan/Svetlana Gudyno of Russia. In Sunday’s Standard final, German pair Simone Segatori/Annette Sudol became the year-end champions scoring 193.36 points. They were followed by Russians Dmitry Zharkov/Olga Kulikova and Italy’s Francesco Galuppo/Debora Pacini. Next year will be the last year in the five-year contract for the WDSF Grand Slam to be held in Shanghai. The WDSF is looking to extend the contract.
