Hurdling icon Liu Xiang announces divorce, ending 9-month marriage with actress

RETIRED hurdling icon Liu Xiang today announces on Sina Weibo microblog his divorce with Ge Tian, a Chinese actress.
"Ge Tian and I fell in love in May 2014 and tied the knot in September the same year. But our personalities are so incompatible that we ended our marriage today. Hope we both have a more exciting life later on and best wishes." Liu writes on his Weibo.
Rumors about the couple getting divorced had been in the air in Chinese media recently.
A TV series starring Ge last month was pulled off the air pending an investigation into claims it was overloaded with sexual innuendo. It tells the story of China’s resistance to invading Japanese forces in the 1930s.
