IAAF: Blake to run in Shanghai
WORLD 100-meter champion and Olympic silver medalist Yohan Blake has been lined up to run in the Diamond League meeting in Shanghai in May, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said yesterday.
"Returning to China will bring good memories for me. It was in China that I won my first major international medal as a junior athlete at the 2006 IAAF World Junior Championships," Blake was quoted as saying on iaaf.org. Blake, 23, announced earlier this week that he will compete in the opening Diamond League meeting in Doha on May 10. The Shanghai event comes eight days later. The Jamaican, second behind Usain Bolt in the 100 and 200 at the London Olympics last year, has a 200 personal best of 19.26.
