ICC backtracks

THE International Cricket Council rescinded its decision on cutting the number of teams at the 2015 World Cup yesterday, ruling that 14 countries instead of 10 will compete at the sport's showpiece event in Australia and New Zealand. The ICC board decided last October that the 50-over World Cup would comprise 10 teams, but has now delayed the move until the 2019 tournament in England and Wales.
