India fined
INDIA captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his team have been fined part of their match fee for maintaining a slow over rate in the first one-day international against Sri Lanka.
The International Cricket Council said in a statement yesterday that India was one over short when the finishing time came in Saturday's day-night match and Match Referee Chris Broad fined Dhoni 20 percent of his match fee and 10 percent from his teammates. India won by 21 runs and went 1-0 up in the five-match series. The second match will also be played at Hambantota tomorrow.
