Irish jockey banned

THE British Horseracing Authority has banned an Irish jockey and his trainer for three years for fixing a race at Newcastle in August. A BHA disciplinary panel found jockey Jason Behan and trainer Eamon Tyrrell guilty of not running Casela Park on its merits during a handicap race on August 4. The five-year-old horse was beaten by two lengths, finishing in sixth. Behan and Tyrrell's disqualification period begins today. Casela Park has been suspended from running for six weeks, starting the same day.
