JAPANESE Mariko Adachi won the women's individual triathlon gold medal at the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou today.
Adachi clocked in the winning time of two hours, five minutes and 44.59 seconds, beating her compatriot Akane Tsuchihashi to second in 2:06:31.56, while Jang Yun Jung of South Korea took the bronze medal in 2:07:52.50.
