Jose upbeat despite injuries

The absence of key midfielders due to injury will have no impact on the Manchester United team鈥檚 quality in its UEFA Champions League match against CSKA Moscow, manager Jose Mourinho said.
United will be without Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick, leaving Mourinho with Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera as the only experienced central midfielders available for the game in Moscow today.
鈥淲e don鈥檛 have Fellaini, we don鈥檛 have Pogba, we don鈥檛 have Carrick. So all three midfield players we lose for this match. The solutions are not many,鈥 Mourinho told a news conference yesterday.
鈥淲e try not to focus on individual battles or specific areas on the pitch. We try to focus on the bigger picture. And we are going to have a team with quality, with balance.鈥
Mourinho expects Fellaini to be back soon after sustaining an ankle injury in the 1-0 win at Southampton on Saturday.
鈥淚t was only when I saw it on TV that I realized that Fellaini was very lucky,鈥 Mourinho added. 鈥淚 do not expect him to be out for long.鈥
CSKA Moscow lies fourth in the Russian Premier League with six wins from 11 games but Mourinho believes it is 鈥渢he best CSKA I am going to play against鈥.
鈥淚 don鈥檛 like to speak about opponents,鈥 he said.
鈥淚f I speak good, I motivate them. If I speak bad, I motivate them.鈥
CSKA manager Viktor Goncharenko said his squad would try to find United鈥檚 weak spots.
鈥淭hese are such great clubs that if they lose top players they always replace them,鈥 Goncharenko said.
鈥淚t doesn鈥檛 mean that the level will decrease. We won鈥檛 find any weakness here.鈥
United, unbeaten this season and level on points with Manchester City at the top of the English Premier League, started its UCL campaign with a 3-0 win over Switzerland鈥檚 Basel at Old Trafford.
CSKA beat Benfica 2-1 in Lisbon in its opening match.
