KAZAKHSTAN plans to bid for the 2026 football World Cup, the outgoing head of the country's football federation, Adilbek Zhaksybekov, told local media Saturday.
Almaty, the Central Asian country's largest city, is bidding to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
The Asian Winter Games took place in Almaty and the 2017 Winter Universiade will also be held in Almaty.
The 2018 World Cup is being hosted by Russia, with the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar.
