Korean archers power to finals
SOUTH Korean archers showed their class in the recurve individual and mixed events at the archery World Cup in Shanghai yesterday as they made all three finals.
World No. 1 Yun Ok-hee collected 113 points in the 12-arrow semifinal to beat local challenger Zhao Ling by six points. She will face Berengere Schuh of France in the final. Schuh upset Ji Kwak-ye of South Korea 109-107. The South Korean men also took half spots after the quarterfinals. Oh Jin-hyek beat Malaysia's Cheng Chu Sian 114-112 in the semifinals, while Im Dong-hyun lost to Chen Wenyuan of China by 113-112. In the mixed team recurve semifinals the Koreans beat India 114-109. China also qualified for the final by defeating France 148-137.
