THE canoe slalom venue for the 2012 London Olympics has hosted its first test event less than a year before the games begins. The Lee Valley White Water Center, situated 30 kilometers north of London, was the site for 175 athletes from 30 nations to compete across three days ending Sunday. Shaun Dawson, chief executive of Lee Valley Regional Park Authourity, said on Monday in a statement that "we're delighted with the success of the event and the positive comments athletes and officials from across the world have made."
