Mallorca coach
MALLORCA says it is close to reaching a deal with Joaquin Caparros for the former Athletic Bilbao coach to take charge of the Spanish club. Mallorca Vice President Lorenzo Serra Ferrer announced late on Monday that "we have a tentative agreement with Joaquin Caparros for him to be the coach of Mallorca." If the deal is completed, Caparros would replace Michael Laudrup, whose resignation last week has caused a public rift in the club, including the exit of tennis star Rafael Nadal's family from the club's executive board.
