N. Korean striker to play in S. Korea
A SOUTH Korean club said it had acquired North Korea striker Jong Tae Se from Germany's Cologne.
The Suwon Samsung Bluewings said it has agreed to pay Cologne 300,000 euros (US$394,000) for the acquisition, but declined to say how much it will pay the 27-year-old forward. Bluewings official Lee Ho-seung said Jong had sought the transfer and the negotiations to acquire him lasted several months. Jong will become the fourth North Korean to play in South Korea's K-League, according to league officials. Jong was born and raised in Japan but holds a North Korean passport and played for North Korea at the 2010 World Cup.
