NORBERT captures ski freestyle event
Victor Oehling Norbert of Sweden claimed his first career freestyle World Cup victory yesterday by winning a men's ski cross event, while Kesley Serwa led a Canadian 1-2 in the women's race in Sochi, Russia.
Oehling Norbert led the big final race from the start, beating Canadian Christopher Delbosco, who finished second in his first race of the season after being sidelined with an injury. Germany's Andreas Schauer was third. Serwa overtook overall women's leader Fanny Smith early in the race to win her second title of the season, ahead of fellow Canadian Marielle Thompson. Smith fell on the last turn and finished third.
